Description
Soy sauce-braised beef with star anise. This dish pairs well with garlic fried rice and a bowl of beef stock on the side.
Ingredients

- 2 ½ lbs. beef cubed
- 1 piece Knorr Beef Cube
- 2 pieces star anise
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup scallions chopped
- 2 thumbs ginger minced
- 6 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 piece onion chopped
- 5 cloves garlic crushed
- 2 ½ cups water
- 3 tablespoons cooking oil
- Salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a cooking pot or pressure cooker, heat the oil. Saute the onion, garlic, and ginger in a skillet.
- Once the onion has softened, add the beef. Cook until golden brown.
- Pour in the soy sauce and water. Stir.
- Combine the Knorr Beef Cube with the star anise. Cook for 15 minutes on high pressure in a pressure cooker covered with a lid.
- Season with salt and ground black pepper, then add the brown sugar. Cook for another 8 to 10 minutes, or until the sauce has reduced slightly.
- Serve with sinangag and beef stock and garnished with chopped scallions. Please share and enjoy.
