Description
Make an incredible BBQ beef sandwich out of it. For a sweet and smoky flavor, this Chopped BBQ Beef Sandwich is made with Heinz Kansas City BBQ Sauce.
Ingredients
Instructions
Preheat the grill to medium-high.
Combine the sugar and Worcestershire sauce and rub it evenly over both sides of the roast.
Grill the roast for 3 to 4 minutes on each side, or until both sides are seared. In the meantime, preheat the oven to 325°F.
Place the roast in a shallow pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Cover the roast with beef broth.
Bake for 2–2 1/2 hours, or until the roast is done (160°F). Remove roast from oven and set aside for 10 minutes. Transfer the roast to a cutting board, reserving the cooking liquid in the pan, and cut the meat into 1-inch pieces.
Skim fat from the surface of the cooking liquid and discard it. Return the chopped meat to the pan with the cooking liquid; toss lightly.
Place one slice of toast on each of six serving plates; top with meat. Drizzle barbecue sauce over sandwiches and serve with onions and pickles on the side.
Notes
Make sure to eat a variety of foods throughout the day so you can fully appreciate the flavor of this tangy beef sandwich.
The brown sugar mixture can be rubbed on the roast ahead of time. Refrigerate for up to 24 hours before grilling, then bake according to package directions.
Place bread slices on the grill grate after removing the browned roast from the grill. Grill the bread for 1 to 2 minutes on each side, or until it is evenly toasted on both sides. Alternatively, after the roast is done, toast the bread slices in the toaster or under the broiler.
